Having a business that complements a full life should be desirable. So why are lifestyle businesses treated with derision?
To support that point, read the 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss: it has changed my life.
From executive-burnt-out to a job that I love and give me plenty of time with my kids and time to travel (as digital nomads).
Time is my luxury. Freedom my fuel.
I’ve had a lifestyle business for a long time ... but the problem is that it’s a little too centred around me, and my productivity. As the years have gone on I feel I’ve missed the opportunity to expand / pass on to a manager - not necessarily because I don’t want to, more because I’ve become too entrenched. Love the idea of a lifestyle business, but perhaps would have done things slightly differently earlier on. Not complaining though - being a tutor is definitely rewarding!
A balanced life , sustained , satisfied and adding value .
