We don't get to determine our own legacy. Instead, others decide it after we're gone. When you live life to make an impact on others, that impact becomes your legacy.
Robert - I read this article in my husband's email, Clem Cooke. Although he appeared to be in excellent health, Clem passed away suddenly on July 1st from a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Unfortunately, there are no symptoms for this condition. My husband was also a very kind, generous and giving person. We were blessed to have 46 years of marriage and we also worked together for 37 years. I can see from the picture of John's family that they are a much younger couple and my heart goes out to his wife and daughters. I'll be remembering them in my prayers each day. These last few weeks have been extremely hard and I know what his family is going through now. I want to thank you for sharing this article as I needed to read this very thing today. Take care and may God bless all of you.
I am very sorry for your loss. It sounds like John did many acts of goodness every day, and will leave a lasting legacy that will hopefully rub off on others for many years. With my condolences, Dave
Hey Robert, so sorry for the loss of your friend and the loss to all that knew and cared for him. People taken before their time is always a shock and the tragedy of the bereavement compounded. Lovely words from you on legacy > as always you provoke thought and pass on wisdom that I know many are grateful for. Thank you for sharing.
I’m so sorry that your friend is gone. You’ve written a lovely tribute to him and shared it with us. Thank you for that gift. I’m confident that his family will find comfort in your lovely words, along with their happy memories with him.
I look forward to your Friday Forward every week, and frequently share them with co-workers and friends. I am so sorry for your loss and appreciate your sharing all of this with us today.
Inspiring, olmost hard to believe that people like your friend even exist, and those who deserve it the least, get taken away way to early and leave you scattered and broken, last person that had the same goodness at heart and never came across in the last 5 years, was my dad... My condoles, and hope you have people who can support you in your grief, I had nobody, and I started to grief 2 years later, still remember when that hit me and felt so alone ever since... Hope to meet just one more time someone like your friend or my father, you can see and read nothing but kindness in their eyes, never saw that again...
I want to share my deepest condolences on the loss of your dear friend. I was truly inspired by your story of John and have purchased his Giftology book. Thank you for sharing with us.

Karen, I am so sorry for your loss and I am glad this was helpful for you.
John was such a special person. So many pieces of his legacy live on in the gifts he inspired for others. Actually, John's life was a gift, too.
That will be his greatest gift.

Divine generosity at it's highest and utmost is demonstrated at the cross of our Lord .
We can inherit the legacy of the cross by believing and become the recipients of the indescribable gift .
