Thank you for helping us know more and shedding better light on this tragic situation. You have my support. My Jewish friends and neighbours have my support. It needs to be said out loud.
Incomprehensible that these atrocities can be happening in this day and age. Beyond reason that as “the higher intelligence” species we have never deduced that peace and harmony are the answer. Take care Robert.
Wow!!! Thank-you for this incredible summarization and links. With so many people justifying the behavior of Hamas it was a well needed post. Much appreciated.
The effectiveness of this piece is the careful shredding of irrelevancy. This is not about differences between Muslims or Jews, it’s about the behavior of an evil fascist sect that only exists for the sole purpose of exterminating another group by any means necessary. Unfortunately, this cancerous group is in power in some Middle East communities and is threatening to create world instability. The goal of response is to exterminate the threat and power of this evil entity with as little collateral damage as possible. However, tragically, substantial innocent lives will be the lost.
Thank you this putting into words with clarity what many of us are thinking today. The irrationality at so many levels is beyond comprehension and begs the question of how civilization has devolved to such a level.
All true and warranted. Hamas' actions have changed a lot of support that previously existed for them, whether that support was ever justified. Can you do a similar piece on the following events? Bombing a humanitarian corridor? Forced displacement/Ethnic cleansing of 1 million Palestinians?
The inhumanity of targeting and premeditated acts of violence against innocent families, women, children, and babies cannot be justified. It's also disheartening to witness the use of platforms to rationalize or justify such atrocities, and the lack of condemnation from various quarters. that apply to both parties.
It's essential for all parties involved to work towards a more sustainable and peaceful solution. The events in Israel and their aftermath highlight the urgency of this need.
By the way a very similar article can be written everyday against Israel if you live in Gaza.
Great perspective on a truly horrific event, Robert.
It is extremely difficult to summarize the situation which exists in that geographic region, but clearly the recent attacks are worth complete condemnation.
Personally, I think it is abundantly clear that war and bloodshed have solved zero problems since the earliest conflict of human against human.
Incredibly, we live in an age of marvelous technological advances and triumphs, yet are successfully unsuccessful at settling differences between each other.
What will it take for humanity to recognize and embrace alternatives to hatred?
Thank you for the links to more information and the thoughts of others. I am stunned at the hatred and violence evidenced by some humans.

Well said as usual Bob. The more we choose to bury our head and not face the reality that hate is a powerful driver both in the USA and Globally.
