Hi Robert. I am wondering do you suggest that organizations put their core values into actionable statements like you coached me on in my session with you on developing core values? Can you please share a couple of examples of organizational core values that shout "action" and not "wall art"?

Agreed! What are some examples of values done right, in your POV? I’d also be curious about what kinds of questions / exercises early stage companies can use to generate their own core values together?

So good to read this. I have seen many companies with Core Values on the wall that could not be found on the workfloor.

I think the task of the leaders should be to visibly address that, involve the employees and ensure full alignment.

Still a lot of work ahead of us there

I worked for a well known Sales methodology company. During my research, I found it odd I couldn't find a mission or value statement. I asked about why the company didn't have them in a meeting about 6 months in when I was at our HQ. It was still a small company. There was laughter because outside the training room on the wall in the kitchen... the previous CEO/CoFounder had spend 30K on plaques for the wall. I had never noticed them. It took marketing to show me on a 4th page on the website where they were. And yes, they were corporate speak vs real values that we did have and lived. Such a waste. I have also worked for a company that has employees learn them and repeat them every year to get the conference gift. They are empowered to make decisions rooted in values. They embody them in most decisions and programs. Values can make a difference.
