Such an important and life changing topic. I want to take this to a different level--namely knowing when to quit a relationship. I have literally seen people ruin their own lives in the fruitless quest to change the person they marry. Having hard and fast "rules" in this area of life would prevent much heartache.

I've been reflecting a lot on the art of quitting lately and yes, sunk cost can kill you, very well put.
Sometimes, walking away is wisdom because it would give you time and energy to do what's better for you.
