The Tool You Need For Success In 2025
Align your daily actions to your personal goals for 2025 with a simple tool
Over many decades, I have found one consistent difference between people who achieve their goals and people who live with regrets: alignment.
No one gets more than 24 hours in a day, so it’s crucial to dedicate time and energy towards the things that we want most. However, this never happens automatically, and we are easily distracted. The key to success is keeping our goals front of mind and proactively building toward them on a daily basis. It’s only after a long span of consistent effort that we actually achieve great things.
For example, imagine you set a goal to write a book in 2025. You’ll probably spend the winter holidays thinking about what you want to write about, and you may even start outlining or even writing. But then, as 2025 kicks off and daily demands on your schedule pile up, you lose sight of the goal and it starts to feel unreachable. At some point in the year, you may stumble upon your 2025 goal list, remember that this was the year you said you’d finally write your book, but decide it’s too late to start writing. Instead, you’ll pledge to write a book in 2026 and the cycle will repeat.
Imagine if, instead, you had taken the annual goal, broken it into quarterly goals and then spent a few minutes each day working towards those quarterly objectives. You’d have a much greater chance of writing a book in 2025. The people who actually write a book in a year don’t have more time than you. However, they do make writing the book a key focus and dedicate a consistent amount of energy toward that focus day after day. Just as a laser cuts through glass through the power of focus, alignment allows you to achieve more with the same amount of time.
I used to face challenges with alignment, but developing a tool to address it completely transformed my approach: The Whole Life Dashboard (WLD). It’s inspired by the same planning and alignment process companies use in valuable management systems like EOS and Gazelles.
Here’s how it works.
