I'm reading a book about Building a Social Business, which encouraages building a business to make a living, but mostly to create a means to help others; it's more about the reward of making the world a better place than achieving riches. Your article made me think that this would be a great way to stay at a higher elevation! Now I am more inspired to start my new business. Thank you!
Wow, this is definitely one of my all time favorite Friday Forwards! Lasting relationships are key to our mental and emotional wellbeing. I’ve been married 40 years and extremely fortunate to have those lasting relationships which helped make the 40 year marriage journey a wonderful ride. Thank you!
Good Morning, Thank you for the reminder that the summit is not the end all. The journey is also amazing... and the concept of reaching a higher plateau and staying there is such a great way to approach new goals.
I wake up every morning feeling free to work toward my company’s higher purpose, not a goal, which is commonly referred to as the “North Star” - the most strategic decision a company can make. Looking back to see how far we’ve come (progress) toward the higher purpose serves to motivate me, my partners and all “fellow traveler” stakeholders. It’s not about how far we have to go rather how much progress we have made to elevate humanity. I stopped chasing goals a long-long time ago.
Good insight Bob. A plateau seems more sustainable than a summit, and still provides a high, and the view, without the same amount of risk! Thanks for helping evaluate the path and the purpose. Be well!
I am reminded of Lord Jesus taking 3 of His inner circle of disciples to the mountain top and granting them the privilege of beholding a preview of His future glory and kingdom post the vicarious suffering .
However He soon brought them to the valley to meet the need of the fallen humanity and to be sensitive to the real human condition on earth .
At the end of His mission on earth He commissioned the Apostles to go into the whole world with the message of redemption for all .

I loved this so much I forwarded it to my children. We are wondering who the artist is on the thumbnail because it looks like my brother’s work.
It's actually AI generated.
