This one hits close to home today. I'm really trying to work on not taking feedback personally, but as a creative in a role that's both creative and technical it's hard to separate myself from the "notes" or "corections." Thanks for your words, as always.

I loved your article! Your point about Repeaters really made me reflect on how much we, as managers, contribute to their lack of action. Our role shouldn’t end with giving feedback. We should help our teams think through what they’re going to do with it: what changes they’ll make, how and what comes next. And then, we should follow up on those commitments as a way of tracking their development.

I suppose this opens up a wider conversation about management style, autonomy and trust. We’re all ultimately responsible for our own growth, but if that growth isn’t happening the way it should, isn’t it partly on us to address it? Or maybe not?
